Cuero hosting CEU event on Oct. 18

CUERO – Texas AgriLife Extension Service of DeWitt County, the DeWitt County Beef and Forage Committee and the Cuero Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture are sponsoring a 5-hour CEU event to be held on Thursday, Oct. 18.

The program will be held at the Cuero VFW Hall, located off of State Highway 183, north of Cuero.

Registration will take place between 7 and 8 a.m. with the program starting promptly at 8 a.m. Participants do not need to RSVP to attend this event. Just be sure to show up early enough to allow time for registration.

The guest speakers and program topics include: “Selection of Grass Species for Re-Seeding Rangeland and Improved Pastures” – Jason Nerada, Pogue Agri Partners, Inc.; “Texas Pesticide Laws and Regulations” – Melissa Barton, Texas Department of Agriculture; and “Identification and Control of Forage Feeding Insects” – Dr. Roy Parker, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Entomologist. Final details on a couple of other programs are still being worked out.

The program will conclude around 1 p.m. There will be a $10 per person fee charged. Light snacks will be provided throughout the morning.
