She was born in Waco on April 20, 1929 to the late Edward and Carrie Bland Gentry.
Bertha is survived by her two daughters, Gladys Edwards and Faye White; son, Leonard Perry Sr.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Norman Perry; sisters, Eddie Mae Perry and Marlene Green.
A wake will be held from 6 to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at Grace Funeral Home in Goliad. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at Fannin Street United Methodist Church with Reverend Anthony Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Lott Cemetery.
