GOLIAD COUNTY – Volunteer firefighters from Goliad, Ander and Schroeder responded to a car fire at approximately 2 p.m. Monday on Farm-to-Market Road 622, three miles north of U.S. Highway 183.

The car was a total loss.

While firefighters were battling the blaze, a Goliad County Sheriff's Office squad car caught fire while it was parked running in a ditch with dry grass.

Firefighters quickly doused the flames before they caused much damage tp the squad car
