KENEDY – Four men were killed in a crash involving three vehicles on the outskirts of Kenedy in the early morning hours of Monday, May 20.

Police say the accident happened around 12:30 a.m. Monday at the intersection of State Highway 72 West and FM 1145, just outside the Kenedy city limits.

An 18-wheeler was turning onto FM 1145 from State Highway 72 West and a motorcyclist was following the 18-wheeler. The motorcycle went down on its side, according to information from police.

A Honda Accord with four men inside, which was traveling behind the motorcycle, collided with the back end of the 18-wheeler. Three of the men died on impact and the fourth died at the scene while in the ambulance.

Police say the four men who died in the crash were not local residents.

The truck driver and motorcyclist were not seriously injured as a result of the crash.

The DPS trooper who investigated told a reporter with a San Antonio TV station that the car and motorcycle were traveling together and had allegedly just left a bar. He said that alcohol might have played a part in the accident.

More information on this story will be posted as it becomes available.
