The Goliad Middle School Lady Cubs captured the District 30-2A junior high school cross country title Saturday.

The Lady Cubs won the title by 30 points.

Individual finishers for the Lady Cubs were Bella Livas (fourth, 13:59), Kaci Hotz (fifth, 14:00), Caelen Johnson (sixth, 14:05), Jalen Garcia (seventh, 14:05), Jennifer Valdez (eighth, 14:06), Ivy Skipper (20th), Kiana Flores (29th), Savannah Mozichek (30th), Brynna Galneau (32nd), Allison Sanchez (33rd), Erika Barrientos (34th) and Esmeralda Villalobos (did not finish).

The GMS boys finished second with with 49 points behind first-place Industrial (44).

Individual finishers for the Cubs were Tino Reyes (fourth, 12:25), Kevin Cavazos (sixth, 12:44), Logan Bland (ninth, 13:02), Bailey Huber (16th, 14:15), Austin Bloom (19th, 14:45) and Jericho Jackson (20th, 15:39).

“I am so proud of my middle school runners,” coach Ed Ousley said. “They worked hard and it paid off. The kids are very hard workers and very well-behaved. Goliad should be very proud of these young runners. The parents have been great and very supportive throughout the season and I thank you all so much for contributing to our success.”
