Goliad senior Dalton Sturm was named the Offensive Player of the Year and two Tiger seniors earned first-team selections on the All-District 30-2A basketball team released Sunday.

Dravian Duncan and Carl Roy were named to first team while Goliad senior Eric Long was chosen to the second team. Goliad’s Irwin Franklin and AJ Carabajal earned honorable mention.

Aransas Pass junior Kiki Hill was named the Most Valuable Player and Aransas Pass senior J.D. Gentry was selected Defensive Player of the Year.

Edna sophomore Terek Dilworth was chosen Newcomer of the Year and Aransas Pass’ Glen Hayes was named Coach of the Year.

Other first-team selections were Aransas Pass sophomore Colin Hale, Aransas Pass junior Troy Galvan, Edna junior Brandon Nidey, Edna senior Austin Sparks, Industrial senior Will Maraggia, Refugio junior Anfernee Friar and Tidehaven senior Jaron Johnson.

Other second-team selections were Aransas Pass senior Victor Gonzalez, Aransas Pass junior Paul Harris, Bloomington senior Kelsey Ortiz, Edna sophomore Landon Myers, Industrial senior Jay Rubio, Industrial senior Brandon Alexander, Palacios senior J.R. Shelby, Palacios junior Cameron Sides and Refugio junior Tyler Castellano.

Goliad’s Roy, Sturm, Carabajal, Mac Wimberly and Uyless Bland were named to the academic all-district team.
