Tigers roll to baseball win over Palacios

GOLIAD – The Goliad Tigers erupted for 12 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning Tuesday night to take a 21-5 District 30-2A baseball victory over the Palacios Sharks.

The Tigers' Zach Helmer went 4-for-4 with a grand slam, three runs scored, five RBI and two stolen bases. Other offensive leaders for Goliad were Justin Thomas (2-for-4, three RBI, two runs scored), Joseph Burns (2-for-2, two RBI, four runs scored), Cody Capistran (1-for-3, four RBI, two runs scored) and Esteban Carrera (1-for-3, two runs scored, stolen base).

Dustin Franke was the winning pitcher.
