Ingram has a two-year grade average of 98.45. During his middle school years, Ingram has been active in football, basketball, track and field, National Junior Honor Society, Student Council and band. He is a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Ingram has won various academic excellence awards, including having been the top seventh-grade student at the end of last year. He will present the welcome address at the eighth- grade awards program to be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 5 at the GHS auditorium.
Dalton Dornburg, son of Brent and Terri Lynn Dornburg, is the second-highest ranked student in this year’s eighth-grade class with a 98.10 average. He has been a member of the football and basketball teams, Student Council and NJHS, where he served as historian.
Dornburg is consistently on the “A” Honor Roll. He represented GMS at the district UIL academic contest and placed second in science and number sense. Dornburg is a member of the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church youth group and the Weesatche 4-H Club. He has won numerous awards both at the Goliad County and San Antonio Livestock Shows. Dornburg will present the benediction at the awards program.
Two students, Nathan Oliver and Hunter Troell, tied for the third-highest average at 97.35.
Oliver is the son of Veronica Fair and Jeffrey Oliver. He has participated in athletics, band, NJHS and Student Council.
Oliver has continually been a high-ranking student, qualifying for highest honors in the GMS incentive program. He will lead the Pledge of Allegiance for the awards program.
Troell is the son of Brett and Tami Troell. He has been on the “A” honor roll all year and has also taken part in band, football, basketball, track and field, Student Council, NJHS and UIL spelling.
Troell has qualified for highest honors in the incentive program all year and he placed second in spelling at the academic UIL contest. He will present the invocation at the ceremony.
The top two seventh-grade boys and girls will serve as ushers/usherettes at the awards program. The top two girls are Kelly Thomas, daughter of Becky Thomas and Mike Thomas, and Jadan Butler, daughter of Dawn and Rodney Butler. The top two boys are Hayden Reitz, son of Michelle and Paul Reitz, and Tuffy Dornburg, son of Terri Lynn and Brent Dornburg.
