GOLIAD – Goliad seniors Ty Ross and Justin Thomas competed at one of the nation’s top high school football all-star camps last week.

Ross, a defensive end, and Thomas, a wide receiver-defensive back, took part in Football University’s Top Gun Camp at the Dublin Jerome High School in Dublin, Ohio.

The two players were invited to the camp after their performances at the FBU Dallas and Houston camps. They joined 800 of the nation’s other top athletes at their respective positions and trained with current and former NFL players and coaches.

The Top Gun Camp is the culmination of Football University’s 30-camp nationwide tour, gathering the top performers from across the country and allowing them to compete and display their abilities together on one stage.

Headlining the Top Gun Showcase were quarterbacks coach Jeff Rutledge, former quarterback coach of the Arizona Cardinals; wide receiver coach Billy “White Shoes” Johnson; offensive line coach Jim McNally; defensive back coach Ray Buchanan; and wide receiver coach Charlie Collins.
