Knights of Columbus offering ‘Something Different Weekend’

GOLIAD – The Goliad Knights of Columbus will hold a “Something Different Weekend” on Aug. 8-10, offering recreational activities.

The event will start Friday, Aug. 8 with camping at Goliad State Park.

On Saturday, Aug. 9, a breakfast at the Goliad State Park pavilion will be offered from 7 to 8 a.m.

At 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug.. 9, there will be a bike ride from Schroeder to the Fannin Battleground. Transportation to Schroeder and from the Fannin Battleground back to Goliad State Park will be provided.

Also at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, there will be a kayak trip down the San Antonio River and a round of golf at the Goliad Country Club.

Lunch will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, before an afternoon kayak trip will be offered from 2 to 6 p.m.

A tour of Presidio La Bahia and the Fannin Monument will be offered at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9. A chicken barbecue dinner will follow Saturday, Aug. 9 at 6 p.m. before a trip to Shady Oaks Speedway at 7 p.m. The weekend will conclude with Mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Sunday, Aug. 10 at 10 a.m.
