The National Weather Service investigated a weather system in the Gulf of Mexico south of the Louisiana-Texas coast line and determine it did not sustain any well-defined circulation to develop into a tropical depression.

The system may bring much-needed rain to portions of Texas, however, over the Labor Day Weekend.

Thunderstorms appeared in the northern Gulf of Mexico on Sunday and Monday.

Check for updates.
