Badgers defeat Three Rivers, tied for 1st in District

The Karnes City Badgers varsity basketball team is tied with Poth leading their district.

On Feb. 11 the Badgers defeated Three Rivers by a score of 74-24.

The win brought the team’s overall season record to 29-4 and they are 12-1 in district play.

At halftime, the score was Karnes City 39, Three Rivers 12.

Karnes City outscored Three rivers in all four quarters of play.

1st Quarter: KC 21, Three Rivers 1.

2nd Quarter: KC 18, Three Rivers 11.

3rd Quarter: KC 22, Three Rivers 8.

4th Quarter: KC 13, Three Rivers 4.

Lorenzo Salinas led the Badgers in scoring with 12 points. Brady Braun scored 10, Taylor Garcia and Michael Kinney both scored 7.

Clayton Labus, Nick Pacheco, Kenneth Glenn, Patrick Beaver, Lorenzo Salinas, Taylor Garcia and Kevon Shelton all scored three-pointers during the game.
