Mrs. Garza was born Sept. 30, 1915, in Kenedy, to the late Inocencio and Martina (Gonzales) Farias. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Feliciano Garza; and four grandsons.
Survivors include her daughters, Leonora (James) Barnes of Kenedy, Dava Ramirez of Kenedy, Demetria “Dee” Vela of Michigan, Mary Lou (Eddie) Herrera of San Antonio, Lucy Garza of Karnes City, Maria “Pancake” (Ernesto “Goose”) Garcia of Kenedy, Janie Lerma of San Antonio, Clara (Manuel) Ramos of Victoria and Carolyn “Nina” (Elias) Martinez of Kenedy; a son, Epinemio (Connie) Garza of San Antonio; sisters, Amanda Luna of Waukeegan, Ill., and Maggie Valdez of Kenosha, Wis.; brothers, Frank Farias of Waukeegan, Ill. and Valentine Farias of Port Lavaca; 39 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great-grandchildren.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
The funeral was held at 10 o’clock Monday morning at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Norbert Herman officiating. Interment followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ebony Lerma, Bobby Garza, James Barnes Jr., Marin Cantu Jr., Salvador Vela Jr., George Paniagua Jr., Joe Huckstep Jr. and Eric Roland Garcia.
Honorary pallbearers were Cris Treviño and Felix Villarreal.
