Mrs. Henke was born Aug. 27, 1915, in Falls City to Albert H.G. Schroeder and Charlotte Rex Schroeder. She married Felix B. Henke on Nov. 26, 1936, in Karnes City. She was a housewife and helped her family with farming and ranching. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Fashing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Alice Theis, Louise S. Kellner and Elsie S. Jonas; and an infant brother, Herman Schroeder.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia A. Koenig of Fort Worth; a son, F. Shelby (Beverly) Henke of Campbellton; a brother, Albert Schroeder of Campbellton; a sister, Helen S. Johnson of Houston; six grandchildren, Cheryl A. Koenig, D. David Koenig Jr., James E. Koenig, Robert L. Henke, John W. Henke and Michelle D. Spillar; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday at Rhodes Funeral Home chapel in Karnes City.
The funeral Mass was celebrated 10 o’clock Saturday morning at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Campbellton. Interment followed in the Fashing Cemetery.
