Kenedy High School student Cameron Ruiz placed 3rd at JV Nationals Weightlifting.

Cameron Ruiz, a sophomore at Kenedy High School, placed third at the 2011 High School National Powerlifting Championships sanctioned by USA Powerlifting.

The American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas was the host location for the junior varsity and varsity girls and boys competition March 25-27.

Cameron lifted 192.9 lbs on her squat, 77.2 lbs. on her bench, and 209.4 on her dead lift for a total of 379.5 lbs. in the 114 weight class.

Also competing at the varsity level, Amanda Eckols, a junior at Kenedy High School, placed eighth in the 148 lb weight class.

The Kenedy Girl Powerlifters are coached by Stephen Hajovsky.
