Runge High School students compete in district UIL literary meet

On Friday, April 1, 2011, Runge High School students participated in the District UIL Literary Meet held in Tilden, TX. The Current Issues and Events team captured first place in the team competition and will advance to the UIL Regional Meet which will be held at Blinn College in Brenham, TX on April 15, 2011. Team members include: Corey Douglas, Clara Reyna, Cody Villarreal, and Bryan Winters. Villarreal placed 4th individually and Winters placed 6th. Other top finishers include: Austin Caballero, 4th place – Prose, and 6th place in Literary Criticism; Rob Molina, 5th in Ready Writing.

Other participants included: Anthony Villanueva, Bailey Elizondo, Colton Landgrebe, Roman Villareal, Xaubriana Barrientez, Erin Bryan, Jeanette Ramirez, and Conner Briley. These students were sponsored by David Purser and Shari Molina. We are extremely proud of all the students who participated and wish the Current Issues and Events team the best of luck at Regional.
