Otto L. Gawlik, age 81, a lifelong resident of Falls City, TX, died, Sunday, May 8, 2011, at his residence. He was born Oct. 29, 1929 in Falls City to Henry Gawlik, and Bernice Sczepanik Gawlik. He married Rosalie Moczygemba on Feb. 7, 1959 in Falls City. Mr. Gawlik retired from Chevron Resources and also farmed and ranched. He is survived by his son Robert Gawlik and wife Jackie of Falls City; daughters Barbara Banduch and husband Leslie of Libertyville, Illinois, Bonnie Wiatrek and husband Kenneth of Falls City, and Beverly Lauderdale and husband Dan of Welfare, TX; brother Gilbert Gawlik of Malakoff, TX; and grandchildren Justin, Clarissa, Blake, Kaitlin, Aaron, Eric, Victoria, Matthew, Raegan, and Ty. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers Emerek and Valerian Gawlik; and sisters Elizabeth Zaiontz, Ethel Gawlik, and Leocadia Gawlik. A rosary was recited 7 PM, Wednesday May 11, 2011 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City with a funeral mass having been celebrated 10 AM, Thursday May 12, 2011 at the church. Interment followed in the Falls City Cemetery. His grandsons served as pallbearers. Funeral services were entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home of Karnes City where the on-line guestbook may be signed at
