She was married to Alfred Hedtke Sr. on May 22, 1941 and they moved to Karnes City in December 1941. She was a wife and mother who enjoyed gardening, a good game of cards or dominoes, and going for rides in the country. She took great joy in spending time with her 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her 3 children Alfred Jr. & Charlene Hedtke of Giddings, Melba & Larry Pettiette of Nacogdoches, and Brenda & Leo Janysek of Kenedy. Her 7 grandchildren, Stacey & Bob Vandrovec of Shelbyville, Lora & Dan Huerta of Lufkin, Wade & Tiffany Pettiette of Nacogdoches, and Jared & Jeanette Pettiette of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Kevan Hedtke of Giddings, Kim Hedtke of Rockdale, and Caleb Janysek of Kenedy. Her 4 Great-Grandchildren are Bobby Vandrovec and Loren Vandrovec of Shelbyville, Kade Pettiette of Nacogdoches and Benjamin Huerta of Lufkin.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents Hilra and Grace Driver, her husband Alfred Hedtke, Sr., her two sisters Dean White of Big Spring, TX and Edith Williams of Sweetwater, TX. She is survived by two brothers-in-law David Williams of Sweetwater and Herbert Hedtke of San Antonio.
Funeral Services were held at 3 PM, Monday, May 16, 2011 at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City. Burial followed in the Karnes City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Kevan Hedtke, Wade Pettiette, Dan Huerta, Caleb Janysek, Bob Vandrovec, Jared Pettiette, and Murray Rudolph.
