William “Archie” Szalwinski, age 80, of Seguin, TX died July 30, 2011 in San Antonio. Archie has lived in Seguin the past 10 years, having lived in Kenedy, TX most of his life. He was born Oct. 28, 1930 in Falls City, TX to Pete J. Szalwinski and Bernice Dworaczyk Szalwinski. Archie served his country in the Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Poth VFW post #8555; and the Knights of Columbus Falls City Council #6782 serving as a 4th Degree Knight. He was a Rancher; Interior Decorator Painter; and a Bakery Route Salesman for 34 years. He is survived by his wife Gladys Jo Szalwinski of Seguin; son Robert W. Szalwinski and wife Shawna of Corpus Christi; daughter Dorothy Ralph and husband Lester of Slidell, LA, and Sharon Burrow and husband Steve of Willis, TX; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister Patricia Szalwinski of Falls City, and brother Peter Paul Szalwinski of Falls City. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife Theresa Szalwinski; son David J. Szalwinski; sisters Bernice Janysek, and Virginia Zaiontz. A rosary was recited 7 PM, Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011 at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City and a funeral mass was celebrated 10:30 AM, Friday, Aug. 5, 2011 at the Navitiviy of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Cestohowa. Interment followed in the Cestohowa Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Dr. Ronald Ralph, Tye Szalwinski, Jarret Burrow, Kelly Weber, Marty Green, and Zebulah Schoberned.
