Thursday night the Kenedy Lions would play the Kingsville Freshmen team in place of the Runge JV due to lack of numbers in Runge.

The Lions would overpower the freshmen team as they would score 52 points in the shutout victory.

It would be the second straight shutout for the Lions.

Scoring first for the Lions was Cedric Mejia on a 5 yard run. Jeremy Rodriguez would run the 2pt conversion in. Joey White would run the next one in from 6 yards and the 2pt conversion. Angel Flores would recover a fumble on the Kingsville 24 yard line and on the next play Zeke Jacques would run it in.

The 2pt conversion would be a pass from Dominic Cruz to Marcos Dehoyos.

Cruz would run the next TD in from 5 yards and then complete the 2pt conversion to Tristin Villarreal to cap a 32 first quarter.

In the second quarter Jacob Asebedo would run it in from 14 yards. Jordan Valdez would kick the point after to make it 39-0.

In the second half Patrick Aquero would return an interception for a TD from 35 yards out.

Valdez’s kick would be no good to leave the score at 45-0.

The last TD of the night would come from Jacques as he would bounce off a couple of tacklers for a 28 yard run.

Valdez would add the PAT to finish off the scoring for the Lions at 52-0.

The Lions would have scored again as Jacob Hinojosa and Victor Monsevais were gaining big chunks of yards before the Lions started taking a knee to end the game. The Lions are now 3-0 on the year. It was a good job by the offensive line of Daniel Fuentes, Bryant Tiemann, Jordan Valdez, Robby Gutierrez, Matt Collins, Angel Flores, and Tim Salas.
