Lady Badger cross country team places 2nd at UTSA meet

SAN ANTONIO – The Varsity Lady Badger Cross Country team won second overall at the Six Flags/UTSA Classic Saturday, with Freshman Kristina Sauceda showing a lot of promise and bringing home a second place trophy.

“The girls had a fantastic race,” Coach Jennifer Card said. “There was lots of competition and the girls stepped up and competed well.”

Freshman Clara Gotthardt placed 12th, Junior Courtney Garcez followed with 15th place, Senior Tara Torres finished 22nd, Freshman Seande Goodhue placed 32nd, Senior Krysttal Renteria came in 35th, Freshman Savannah Dobson got 36th, Freshman Madie Walter was 40th, Freshman Desiree Ramirez got 44th, Senior Kim Lara was 67th, Senior Stephanie Moya placed 75th and Jade Gonzales was 81st.

“I was super-excited ‘cause I did better than I expected, and overall I thought the team did excellent,” Torres said.

The Varsity Boys team placed 12th overall. Senior Miguel Perales came in 33rd, Sophomore Chris Tobar trailed at 40th, Freshman Angel May came in 82nd, Sophomore Ari Lopez was 86th, Freshman Chris Brambila placed 94th, Sophomore Jeremy Coronado was 111th, Junior Rodney Foreman was 118th and Sophomore Jesus Moncada rounded out the effort at 136th.
