Karnes City cross country team brings home honors from Dilley Invitational Meet

The Karnes City Cross Country teams came home with top honors and medalists from the Dilley Invitational Meet Saturday.

The Varsity Lady Badgers took 1st place team among the 10 teams there. Freshman Kristina Sauceda continued her medaling streak, this time with 1st place, and Junior Courtney Garcez won 3rd, while Freshman Clara Gotthardt came in 5th, Senior Darian Ramirez 11th, Senior Kim Lara 12th and Freshman Seande Goodhue 13th.

The Varsity Badger team as well as JV boys both won 4th place awards. Senior Miguel Perales led the varsity boys with 11th, Sophomore Chris Tobar was 19th, Freshman Robert Morin 22nd, Freshman Angel May 24th and Sophomore Ari Lopez 31st. On the JV boys end, Jeremy Coronado got 6th, Freshman Chris Brambila 16th, Freshman Randy Flores 23rd, Junior Rodney Foreman 25th, Freshman Chayse Leal 33rd and Sophomore Jesus Moncada 36th.

For the JV girls, Freshman Desiree Lopez won 1st, Freshman Savannah Dobson trailed at 5th, Freshman Madie Walter came in 7th, Junior Hailey Johnson was 11th and Senior Stephanie Moya 12th. The team won 2nd place overall.

At the junior high level, Jordan Garcez took top honors with her 1st place finish. Emily Valdez won 6th and Dee Shay Shular followed with 7th. Kyler Palmer came in 12th among junior high boys.
