Thursday October 6th the Kenedy Cubs traveled to Center Point to tangle with the Pirates.

The Cubs were coming off a weather cancelled game from last week against Runge and were looking to go 3-1 on the season which they did as they defeated the Pirates 22-6.

Scoring first for the Cubs was Travis Vickery with the touchdown run and Daren Cruz added the 2pt conversion to give the Cubs a 8-0 lead in the first quarter.

In the second quarter Brandon Castillo would run it in for the touchdown but the 2pt conversion would be stopped short to leave the score at 14-0 at the half.

Center Point would strike first in the third quarter to cut the lead to 14-6 and this would be the score till the last two minutes of the game. Center Point would be down in their own end as they were trying to tie the game.

The defense would come up big as Castillo would sack the quarterback and cause a fumble in which Vickery would kick and then fall on in the end zone for the TD.

Derreck Wilson would add the 2pt conversion to give the Cubs the final score of 22-6.
