On Thursday October 13th the Kenedy JV would sweep the area by defeating the Falls City JV 28-0 and keep their undefeated streak alive.

With the win the Lions have now defeated Pettus, Karnes City, Yorktown, and Falls City all of which reside within 25 miles of Kenedy.

The game would start off with the Lions coming up with the fumble on the kickoff as Jeremy Rodriguez would recover the fumble.

On the next drive Angel Flores would recover another Beaver fumble.

This turnover would lead to points as Cedric Mejia would scamper in from 12 yds out.

Dominic Cruz would add the 2pt conversion with a run to make it 8-0 with 4:05 in the first.

In the second quarter Nathan De Los Santos would pick off the Falls City pass and return it to the 7 yard line.

Cruz would get the honors and run it in from 4 yards.

Cruz would then hit Marcos Dehoyos with the 2pt conversion pass to make it 16-0 with 7:09 in the second.

Rodriguez would get another turnover from the Beavers as he picked off the pass and returned it to the 47 yard line. The Lions would drive down to the 2 yard line with 24 seconds left in the first half and Cruz would connect with Rodriguez for the score.

The 2pt conversion would be stopped and the Lions would take a 22-0 lead into half time.

The third quarter would remain scoreless for both teams. In the 4th quarter Rodriguez would continue his good game with a 30 yard touchdown run with 1:12 left to play.

The 2pt conversion pass to Patrick Aquero was complete but he fumbled going into the end zone in which a Beaver fell on it to stop the conversion and leave the final score at 28-0.

This was the Lions 5th shutout in 7 games and have only given up 20 points so far this year.

Next up for the Lions will be Nixon-Smiley in Nixon Thursday.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 following the junior high game.
