Floyd Melvin “Billy” Sexton, age 79, of Karnes City, passed away Friday Oct. 21, 2011. He was born June 6, 1932 in Coy City, TX to the late Meredith “Alvin” Sexton and the late Effie Goodman Sexton. He graduated from Karnes City High School in 1950. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired Ultrasonic X-Ray Technician having worked for Cameron Iron for 33 years. After retiring from Cameron Iron, he moved back to Karnes City and bought the Kick’n “S” Ranch. He is survived by his daughters Jamie Asch of Houston and Kristy Riess of Cartecay, GA; his brother W. A. “Lefty” Sexton of Victoria, TX; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Juanita Ousley, and his wife Jo Ann Sexton. His quiet demeanor, caring ways, and quick wit will be greatly missed by his family and friends alike. Visitation was held Tuesday evening Oct. 25, 2011 at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City. A Funeral Service was held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City. A Committal Service was held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston; 12800 Westheimer, Houston, TX 77077.
