The first annual “Boots ‘N Bling Gala benefitting the Karnes City ISD Education Foundation was a great success, according to organizers of the event.

Many friends of the school district came out to celebrate KCISD with food, an exciting silent auction and dance at the Panna Maria Dance Hall on Oct. 15.

The Gala kicked off the group’s Founders Drive.

“We are happy to report that during our initial Founders Drive efforts, we have raised an outstanding $50,571! It is not too late to make a donation, as we are just beginning our fundraising efforts and hope to build a strong financial base,” said event organizers.

“The funds that we raise will be used directly in K-12 classrooms by granting teachers wishes for items that the district is unable to provide in its limited budget. Many of these items will be used from year-to-year. Examples of what we’ve granted thus far: cameras to help Junior High students create multi-media presentations, a computer to enhance Junior High math, and items to build an outdoor habitat for High School science programs which will include a small pond.”

“We believe that through this foundation, we will enhance excitement in academics not only in the schools but also in the community, as the community becomes a tangible partner in education. The board would like to sincerely thank everyone that attended our event, our donors, and corporate sponsors. We also very much appreciated Sean O’Brien performing at the Gala.”

“We invite you to make a donation in support of education and become part of the Founders Drive! Tax-deductible donations can be mailed to: KCISD Education Foundation C/O KCISD Administration Office 314 N Hwy 123, Karnes City, Texas 78118. We are happy to answer any questions you may have. You can contact us at 830-780-2321 ext. 200 or via email”
