Juan S. Aguirre, 82, of Falls City, died Dec. 10, 2011 in Floresville, Texas.

He was born May 6, 1929 in Falls City to Dionicio Aguirre and Eliodia San Miguel Aguirre. Mr. Aguirre was a Catholic by faith. He was a carpenter by trade and an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his sisters, Rosa Sanchez of Hobson, Modesta Sanchez of Hermeleigh, Texas, Dominga DeHoyos of Artesia, New Mexico, and Refugia Sanchez of Falls City and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Cleofas Aguirre and Clemente Aguirre; and sister, Genevieve Jaramillo.

A rosary was recited 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City and a funeral mass was celebrated 10 a.m., Monday, Dec.

12, 2011 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hobson. Interment followed at the Falls City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Patrick Cervantes, Paul Jaramillo, Roger Garcia, Kelly Hons, Victor DeHoyos, Armando Sanchez, and honorary pallbearers included Ruben Sanchez, Adrian Trevino, Matthew Hons, Kaleb Hons, and Mark Hons.
