“The JV has played well so far this season,” Head JV Coach Kyle Armstrong said. “I hope we continue to get better.”
The Freshman team also has also begun their season.
“The Freshman have played only two games,” Armstrong said. “But many of them played in the Goliad JV Tournament and helped us come out with victories.”
JV dominated over The Pettus Eagles 70-37. High point was Junior Victor Flores with 27, followed by Freshman Chayse Leal with 14, and Junior Jacob Puente with 8.
Participating in the Goliad Tournament, the JV brought home the gold. The faced Hallettsville and won 55-44, Junior Fernando Cordaway lead with 16, followed by Junior Victor Flores with 14. Freshmen Mac Pogue followed next with 8, along with Chayse Leal with 8.
They then defeated Goliad 62-53 to win the championship. Junior Fernando Cordaway led with 20, followed by Freshman Paul Kinney with 12, and junior Victor Flores with 11.
