Mr. Frank A. Gohlke, age 75, of Runge, Texas, passed away on December 20, 2011 at his residence. He was born on December 5, 1936 to Marcellus F. Gohlke and Edna (Stoever) Gohlke. He was born in Yorktown, Texas and raised in Goliad County until he married Lola A. Bingham in October of 1960. After their marriage they moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where he worked in the commercial fishing industry, they later moved to Victoria, Texas and after their sons graduated, they moved to Runge where they have lived since. Frank served in the Army National Guard as a Tank Specialist. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Runge. While living in Runge he worked at Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital where he was the maintenance supervisor. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lola A. (Bingham) Gohlke; step-sons, Wayne (Tammy) Hillman of Gonzales, Randy (Cindy) Hillman of Big Spring, Texas and Dwayne Hillman of Gonzales, Texas; brothers, Dr. Marvin Gohlke of Kerrville, Texas and Wilbert Gohlke of Corpus Christi; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Gohlke was preceded in death by his parents, son, Timothy Allen Gohlke, brothers, Dennis, LeRoy and Aldo and by a sister Adeline Boehl. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Runge with Pastor Jonathon Waller officiating. Interment followed in the Runge City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Sterling Hillman, Marvin Gohlke Jr., Blake Hillman, Matthew Hillman, Warren Gohlke and Danny Gohlke. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Runge.
