Coach Burke Braun was able to rest his starters including injured Junior Point-Guard Aileen Lundquist, with a sore wrist, and give his second string and younger players more experience on the court. Junior Wing Kalli Ferguson will be out for the season with a hip injury.
Leading the Lady Badgers in scoring was Freshman Post Morgan Kelley with 17 points.
“It felt good just because of the fact that I was a freshman and I received a lot of compliments from my older team members; it just made me feel a part of the team,” Kelley said. “I really helped me because I saw everyone cheering for me and saw Coach seeing some of the stuff he had been talking about in practice.”
Along with Kelley’s 17 points, Junior Khadeshia Hopkins added 10, and Sophomore Point Guard Kayla Ramirez scored 9. Junior Center Lani Pitts hit 9 in the first quarter alone.
