The superstition of Friday the 13th did not seem to surpass the Badgers as they faced the Jourdanton Indians. The Badgers took charge and defeated the Indians 92-70.

Senior Brady Braun led the Badgers with 31-points, followed by Junior Philip Vaughan with 17. Senior D.C Williams and Junior K.D. Glenn both followed with 14-points apiece.

At halftime the Badgers were down 39-38, but came out in the third quarter and scored an additional 25points putting the score at 63-54.

“We just told them that we needed to continue to full court press them because they were exhausted. We knew we could wear them out with our pressure in the second half and they would start to turn the ball over,” Coach Sean Armstrong said. “In the third quarter our pressure took its toll on them, and we were able to outscore them in the third and early fourth 50 to 20.  Brady Braun also played very well for us and had 31 points.”

Williams and Vaughn both hit 3-pointers in the game.

The Badgers are now 4-1 in district play, and will be facing Three Rivers Tuesday Jan. 17 at Three Rivers with games starting at 5 p.m.
