He was born Feb. 13, 1945 in Coy City, TX to Rufino Lopez Sr., and Petra Guzman Lopez. He was a member of the St. Cornelius Catholic Church, Karnes City, and he was a retired butcher.
Survivors include his sisters, Ernestina Cantu, Mary Bowers, and Irene Guerra; sisters-in-law Ignacia Lopez, Consuelo Lopez, and Ester Lopez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Rufino Lopez Jr., Gilberto Jose Lopez, Guadalupe Lopez, Raul Lopez, and Reynaldo Lopez.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012 at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City. A funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 23, 2012 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church with interment following in the New Breman Cemetery.
