Robert Bingham, 87, of Boerne, formerly of Kenedy, died Jan. 24, 2012 in San Antonio.

Robert was born March 16, 1924 in Smiley, Texas to Oscar L. Bingham and Martha Dollie Addison Bingham. He married Ida Madsen Bingham on Feb. 25, 1947 in Kenedy. He was a completion engineer and a member of First Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of WWII.

Survivors include wife, Ida Madsen Bingham of Boerne; daughters, Lana Green of Fair Oaks Ranch; Elaine (Roger) Ahrens of Georgetown and Janet (Michael) Switalski of San Antonio; son, Robert (Nola) E. Bingham, Jr., of Houston; sister, Aleene Goehlke of Karnes City and Faye Shock of Victoria; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by father, Oscar L. Bingham; mother, Martha Dollie Addison Bingham; sister, Thelma Rodgers, Bertha Geisler, Ethel Irene Adkins, Otha Hoelsing, Jessie Novak, Letha Novak, Lila Mae Merrith and brothers, Bill Bingham, Alvin Bingham, Leonard Bingham and James Bingham.

Visitation was held Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. Funeral services were held Jan. 28, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Eckols Chapel with Rev. Walter Hill, III, officiating. Burial followed at the Choate Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Green, Daniel Bingham, Brannan Ahrens, Mark Petree, Natna Petree, Paul Hefferman and Landon Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Roger Ahrens, Michael Switalski and Craig Brown.
