Marvin Walter Schorre, 74, of Runge, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012. He was born in Karnes County August 11, 1937 to the late Walter William Charles and Sibyl Watkins Ragsdale Schorre. Marvin graduated in 1956 from Runge High School. He graduated in 1959 from the University of Texas Radiology Technology Medical School, Galveston, Texas. He worked for the Veterans Administration Department in Radiology 1959-1994 in San Antonio. He retired to Runge to ranch. He was a member of the Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Runge, Alamo Area Radiology Technologist and a Mason in the La Vernia Lodge for 50 years.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Covey Plant Schorre; sons, Walter and wife Raye Schorre of San Antonio; Mark, wife Shawna and grandchildren Alaine and Ean Schorre of San Antonio; sister, Lee and husband Robert Nagel; stepson, Curtis and wife Christina Plant of Runge; stepdaughter, Constance and husband Chad and their children Lane and Alexis Kern of Victoria, TX; brother-in-law, Ed and wife Linda Paschal; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and other family and friends.

Preceded in death by his wife, Joan Paschal Schorre; his parents; brother Dan and Kay Schorre

Visitation was held Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at Rhodes Chapel in Runge. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Runge. Interment followed in the Runge City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Walter Schorre, Mark Schorre, Curtis Plant, Chad Kern, Ed Paschal and Kenneth Foster. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Paul Natho and Tommy Natho.

Memorials can be made to the Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Runge or Runge Public Library.
