Mary Edna (Loessin) Studlar, 94, of Yorktown (formerly of La Grange), was called home to the Lord on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Yorktown Manor.

Mary was born in the Black Jack Community in Fayette County, Texas on August 16, 1917, the daughter of the late Henry and Sallie (Smith) Loessin. She married Jerry Albert Studlar on February 14, 1936 in La Grange.

Mary enjoyed her thirty-five years working in Ecleto and Karnes City as a Bookkeeper, Manager and Assistant Pay Master. She especially enjoyed her years with Jauer Farm Supply and her employer, Bill Jauer. Her work enabled her to make many friends from whom she learned a lot. In her spare time, Mary loved sewing western shirts for locals and quilts for family members and friends.

She is survived by son, Laddie J. Studlar of Harmony Community; daughter, Betty Atkinson and husband, Gene, of Yorktown; brother, Otto Loessin and wife, Joyce, of Columbus; three sisters: Gracie Taylor of O’Quinn Community; Lucille Walters and husband, Ed, of Muldoon; Tillie Remmert and husband, Calvin, of Houston; eleven grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; daughter, Jeraldine (Studlar) Black; two grandsons: Jody Black and James Hall; granddaughter, Cindy Studlar; three brothers: Herbert, Alfred and Gussie Loessin; infant sister, Carrie Irene Loessin and sister, Katie (Loessin) Warnke.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2012. Burial will follow at Black Jack Springs Cemetery.
