Lions blank Bobcats

Monday February 27th the Kenedy Lions traveled to Skidmore to play the Bobcats for a regular non district contest.

The Lions again would take this game in five innings as Rolie Zepeda would pitch a complete game 2 hitter and allowing only three runners total to reach base.

The Lions would strike in the top of the first as Zepeda would single and move to third on Dominic Cruz sac bunt. Tristan Mejia would ground out to brting in Zepeda.

In the second inning J.D. De Los Santos would walk and score on Kris Bryan’s double.

Bryan would score on a error on Aaron Castillo’s ground ball to short.

Zepeda would plate Castillo with a single.

The Lions would score 9 runs in the fifth inning.

Zepeda, D. Cruz, Mejia, I. Cruz, Eddie Villarreal, Jacob Asebedo, RayJ Garza, Castillo, and Zepeda again would all score due to walks and hit by the pitch as the Lions would get two hits in the inning De Los Santos single and a Mejia double.

The defense played well committing no errors and Zepeda struck out 10 of the 18 batters he faced. With the win the Lions improve to 3-0.
