Mrs. Bridgit Hernandez’s 3rd grade Social Studies class from Pawnee ISD constructed skyscraper models out of toothpicks to relate to when and who constructed the first skyscraper. The students had to design a blueprint drawing before beginning construction. Upon completion the students had the opportunity to name their skyscraper. Students learned how to follow their blue print design and make alterations during their construction to add extra support or stability where needed. The students really enjoyed working on the activity.
