Lions move to 6-0

The Kenedy Lions were able to pick up a game with the Floresville Tigers JV on Tuesday March 13th.

In the game the Lions would take control from the first inning as they scored three runs in the first, five in the second, three in the third, two in the fourth, and three in the top of the sixth.

Isaac Cruz would pick up his second win with 4 innings of work giving up 4 runs on 5 hits and striking out 5 in the process.

Rolie Zepeda would pick 1 inning the fifth and strike out 2.

Tristan Mejia would finish out the game with 1 inning of work giving up 2 runs on 1 hit.

The Lions would end up winning 16-6 in 6 innings on the ten run rule.

Offensively the Lions were led by Isaac Cruz who went 5 for 5, 3 runs scored, 2 doubles, and 4 rbi’s.

RayJ Garza and Mejia would both go 2 for 3, Dominic Cruz would go 2 for 4, Zepeda would go 1 for 2 and score 4 times, and Eddie Villarreal would go 1 for 3 to round out the 13 hits that the Lions would get in the game.

With this game the Lions finish out pre district play at 6-0.

District play begins Tuesday March 20th at home against Port Aransas last year’s district 31-A champion.
