Leopards open district with wins over Yorktown, Pettus

The Kenedy Leopards opened district with a 12-2 victory over Yorktown.

Saren Sutton got the win and also got a hit and scored 3 runs.

Desiree Guerra and Becca Brown both got two hits and scored 3 runs, and Brown had 3 RBI’s.

Lauren Hernandez and Laurel Vickery both got 2 hits each and 2 RBI’s. Teryn Schmidt and Megan Villanueva had a hit apiece and each scored a run and Schmidt also had an RBI.

The Leopards improved to 2-0 in district with an 11-1 victory over Pettus.

Sutton once again got the win and Kenedy is now 8-5 overall.

Sutton also had a hit, 2 stolen bases and scored 2 runs, Hernandez had a hit, a stolen base and scored 3 runs, while Brown had 2 each hits and RBI’s and scored a run.

Villanueva had a hit and scored a run, and Schmidt, Xuabriana Barrientez, Corina Barrientez, and Vickery all also scored for the Leopards.

Kenedy coaches expressed congratulations to the girls and continued good luck in district.
