Leopards softball team picks up wins against Yorktown, Pettus

The Kenedy Leopards defeated Yorktown Tuesday night 12-8, picking up win # 11 for Saren Sutton and she also walked twice and scored 2 runs.

Desiree Guerra had 3 hits, scored 3 times, and had a stolen base.

Lauren Hernandez had 2 hits, scored 3 times and had an RBI.

Corina Barrientez had 2 hits, and an RBI.

Teryn Schmidt had a double, scored a run, walked and had 2 RBI’s.

Becca Brown had a hit, stole a base, and had an RBI.

Megan Villanueva had a hit, scored a run, and had an RBI.

Laurel Vickery got hit by a pitch and scored a run.

Kenedy coaches expressed congratulations to the Leopards and wished them good luck next Thursday for Parents Night against Runge.

In other softball action last week, the Kenedy Leopards rebounded nicely after a heart-breaking, 8 inning, 1-0 loss to Falls City with a 10-0 win over Pettus.

Saren Sutton won her 10th game of the season and only surrendered 1 hit in the 5 inning victory, She also got a hit, stole a base, scored a run, and knocked in an RBI.

Lauren Hernandez also had a great defensive game, had 3 hits, scored 3 runs, stole 2 bases, and had an RBI(run batted in).

Becca Brown did a great job behind the plate, had 2 hits, scored a run, and had 3 RBI’s.

Megan Villanueva had another stellar performance at short, had 2 hits and scored 2 runs.

Laurel Vickery also had a hit and an RBI, Corina Barrientez walked twice and scored a run, Desiree Guerra had a hit, a walk and scored a run, and Teryn Schmidt had a hit, scored a run, stole a base and had an RBI.
