Leopards clinch playoff spot

Kenedy seniors Desiree Guerra, Corina Barrientez,and Megan Villanueva  pose before the Leopards game against Runge.  Desiree starts at first base while Corina starts at second base and Megan at shortstop.  The three girls are valuable members and the underclassmen showed their appreciation by presenting them with an autographable softball pillow Thursday night.  The Leopards defeated the Lady Jackets 10-0 in five innings.

The Kenedy Leopards enjoyed Parent’s Night and a playoff clinching 10-0 victory over Runge Thursday night.

Saren Sutton recorded her 12th win of the season in the 1 hit shutout and she also had a hit, a walk, and an RBI. Desiree Guerra and Xuabrianna Barrientez both had a single, a double, and 2 RBI’s.

Megan Villanueva stole 2 bases, scored twice, had a hit, and a walk.

Lauren Hernandez had a hit, a walk, stole a base, and scored twice. Rebecca Brown walked twice, stole 2 bases, scored a run, and had an RBI. Laurel Vickery had an RBI and scored a run, and Natalie Garcia walked and had an RBI.

Corina Barrientez had another great night at second, turning a double play and making 4 other putouts.

Coaches expressed congratulations to the Leopards and wished them good luck in the end of district and in the playoffs.
