The Lady Badger Softball team faces Poth in the best 2-out-of-3 bi-district series this weekend.

They will play their first game at 6 p.m. Friday, April 27, and then again at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28. If necessary to break a tied-up series, they will compete in a third game at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 30. All of the games are at the Floresville High School field. Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for students.

Fired up after the April 13 win against Cotulla, the Lady Badger Softball team dominated Three Rivers 10-1 in their last regularly scheduled game.

“We have earned an extra game for a playoff spot,” Coach Troy Lover said.

Junior Aileen Lundquist pitched the first six innings, striking out 7. Freshman Miranda Leal came in as a relief pitcher, getting 2 strikeouts.

The Lady Badgers limited their errors – something they have struggled with this season – to only one.

“Although we have not been consistent as we would have liked, our team has found a way to win the games we needed to put us in this position,” Coach Lover said.

Lundquist led with 4 runs and chipped in an RBI. Junior Kalli Ferguson and Sophomores Kayla Ramirez and Jurnee Jaramillo scored 1 run apiece and each had 1 RBI. Rounding out scoring were Seniors Sarah Barkley and Maria Moncada and Junior Roxie Carrasco with a run each.
