“It’s been six years since the last male athlete made it to State,” Coach Donnie Dziuk said. “I’m very proud of these kids to make it in this many events.”
Sophomore Dontrell “D.T.” Lyons won the regional title in the 200 M. dash with a time of 22.4, while Junior Philip Vaughan took 1st in the 110 M. hurdles with a time of 15.28.
The 800 M. Relay team of Junior Garrett Liska, Vaughan, Junior Kenneth “K.D.” Glenn and Lyons (alternate Sophomore David Glenn) won 2nd and broke a school record at 1:30.55. Running the 400 M. Relay, Vaughan, D. Glenn, Lyons and K.D. Glenn finished 4th with a time of 43.7. Vaulting 13 feet, Garrett Willett placed 4th in the Pole Vault.
On the Lady Badgers’ team, Sophomore Katy Gotthardt placed 3rd in the 400 M. and will be a State alternate.
