Roger E. Sides Elementary was granted $2000. Teacher, Jeri Sauceda’s grant application was entitled “Fostering Reading at Home”. The grant will allow the school the ability to provide opportunities for students to earn reading books of their own choosing to be taken home to share with siblings and parents. The grant’s goal is to reinforce the importance of reading together as a family and as an individual.
KCISD Junior High was granted $4000. Math teachers, Cindy Chesser, Heather Gisler, Lisa Moczygemba and Patricia Bomba’s grant application was entitled: “Mathematics Intervention with the iPad”. The grant will allow students in Math classes the opportunity to use iPads with appropriately selected applications to practice new skills and review previously learned skills to gain better fluency in arithmetic facts (such as multiplication and division facts of whole numbers, rational numbers, and integers).
The Badger Pride Patrol has gifted $8800 in grants in the last 12 months. These gifts have gone for use directly in the classroom to help enhance education in the school district. How are we able to do this? Donations, both large and small from the wonderful citizens of our great school district and corporate partnerships we are striving to form. Your donations that went directly into KCISD classrooms (not easily budgeted) include: books, a computer, iPads, cameras and an outdoor science habitat. Your donations are making a difference to literally hundreds of Students in all K-12 grades!
