This coming Thursday, May the 3rd is a very important day in the life of the United States as everyone will be gathering to pray at the 61st annual observance of the National Day of Prayer! Shirley Dobson, Chairmen of the National Day of Prayer Task Force says this: “In light of the unprecedented challenges the United States faces at this critical juncture, I’m especially encouraged to know that so many are raising their voices in repentance, praise, and intercession. The theme for this year’s National Day of Prayer (NDOP) is ONE NATION UNDER GOD and is based on Psalm 33:12 which says: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” How reassuring to know of our Heavenly Father’s protection and guidance- and how vital prayer is for the healing of our land and its citizens.”

Our Karnes County National Day of Prayer will be held this year on Thursday, May 3rd at 7pm in the Kenedy Civic Center Auditorium on Main Street in downtown Kenedy,Texas and we invite you to come! Dr. David Jeremiah is this years Honorary Chairmen. We have seven major areas we will be praying for which are government, churches, military, families, education, media and business. Our speakers this year are: Pastors Jimmy Cummings, John Berry, Jon Waller, Retired Air Force Colonel, Larry Dement, Sherry Sommer, Brenda Taylor, Joe Baker and Bobby Homeyer with music provided by Reverend Russell Briley on trumpet, Pastor John Wheat on guitar with Bobby Homeyer and Robert McGee singing and Karnes County Sheriff David Jalufka leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

God bless and hope to see you all there!

Judy Berry,

National Day of Prayer Coordinator for Karnes County
