Monday April 30th the Kenedy Lions traveled to Woodsboro to finish out the district 31-A baseball season and got back on track as they roughed up the Eagles for 17 hits and 18 runs in five innings. Dominic Cruz got his fourth start of district play and went 4 innings to pick up the victory only giving up 2 hits and 2 walks. Rolie Zepeda would close out the fifth inning striking out the side to give the Lions the 18-0 shut victory and a 9-1 district record and outright title to the championship for 31-A. Jacob Asebedo would go 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored. Isaac Cruz went 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored. Tristan Mejia went 2 for 4 with 3 runs scored and both hits were doubles. JD De Los Santos and Eddie Villarreal both went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored. Jeremy Rodriguez went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored. Dominic Cruz went 1 for 2 with 1 run scored. Rolie Zepeda and RayJ Garza both went 1 for 3 and 2 runs scored. Aaron Castillo would round out the hitting for the Lions going 1 for 3. With the win the Lions improved to 15-2 on the year.
