The Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital Auxiliary held its’ monthly business meeting on Thursday, May 10, with 18 members present. President Emma Villanueva called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. in the Hospital Board Room. Minutes of the previous month’s meeting were read and monthly reports were presented by officers as well as standing and appointed committee members.

Congratulations to Alice Rodriquez of Karnes City as the winner of the ‘Winnie the Pooh’ crib quilt. And thank you to the community for supporting this fund-raising effort. All proceeds derived from our fund-raisers directly benefit the Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital.

Congratulations to the following graduating seniors who are each being awarded a $400 scholarship to pursue further education and a career in a health care related field. They are: Brittany Dzik (Falls City); Aric Garza (Runge); Jay Salinas, Jr. (Kenedy); and Derrick Calvin Williams (Karnes City). We wish each of them much success in their endeavors.

And last but not least, congratulations to our own JoAnn Slane as one of the recipients of special recognition by the OKMH Mission Committee for her service as an Auxiliary member.

Our next business meeting will be Thursday, June 7. The meeting will be held at Barth’s restaurant beginning at 11 a.m., followed by luncheon with the Hospital Board of Directors as our guests.
