Sam, "Bubba” as he was affectionately known to family and friends, enjoyed sports, Kenedy dove hunts, good food, especially dessert and coffee, country western music, 4th of July barbecues, New Year’s Eve celebrations and the annual Coxes Creek Christmas oyster/fish fry. In a lifetime full of accomplishments, Bubba was most proud of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie; sisters, Mary Alice May (Paul) and Cynthia May; sister-in-law, Bertha Dell McDowell; cousins, Carollyn Geldart and Barbara Welder; children, Samye May (Todd), John May (Sharon), Charlotte May Walker (Ashley), and Mac May (Nelda); grandchildren, Emilee May (Ray), Trevor Walker (Aubrey), MiMi May, Sam Walker (Meredith), Jackson May, Steele Walker and Summer May; and three great-grandchildren, Rylen, Jayden, and Torren. Bubba also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and long-time friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sinton First United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice. In addition, please honor Bubba’s memory by supporting your local public school!
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012, at the Sinton High School Auditorium with Rev.Patricia Newcomer and Rev. Buck Ritchea officiating.
