Marcie Janacek, 85, of Karnes City, Texas passed away June 28, 2012.

She was born Aug. 17, 1926 in Karnes City to Richard Linhart and Angela Zezula Linhart. She and Caspar A. Janacek were married on Nov. 6, 1945 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City. She was a homemaker and former secretary/manager of the Karnes City Chamber of Commerce; she was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Church Choir.

Survivors include sons Richard A. Janacek and wife Rachel of Needville, Texas, and Gary P. Janacek and wife Maxine of Ecleto, Texas; daughters Julie A. Krawietz and husband David of Cestohowa, Texas, and Janet M. Sijansky and husband Steve of Corpus Christi, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and brother Alois Linhart.

Preceded in death by her parents; daughter Amy Clare Janacek; husband; granddaughter Jennifer Ross; and sister Betty Jo Decas.

Visitation began at 5 p.m., Sunday July 1, 2012 at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Cestohowa with a rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral mass was celebrated 9:30 a.m., Monday July 2, 2012 at the Church. Interment followed in the Karnes City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Brandon Nieto, Thomas Krawietz, Kyle Nieto, Cameron Janacek, Matt Janacek, Brent Sijansky, and Ryan Sijansky. Funeral services were entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home, Inc. The on-line guestbook may be signed at
