KARNES CITY – Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) officials presented information to county officials recently, updating them on ongoing and planned highway projects.

Several local area projects were listed as being completed recently, or under contract:

State Highway 123 from FM 3191 to the Wilson County line – Mill and inlay with overlay.

US Highway 181 at FM 81 and also US Highway 181 at FM 887 – Add turn lanes with overlay.

State Highway 123 from US Highway 181 to north of State Highway 123 – Mill and inlay with overlay.

State Highway 123 at FM 81 – Add turn lanes with overlay.

FM 791 from west of FM 1344 to east of FM 1344 – Rehab roadway with thin overlay.

FM 791 from FM 887 to US Highway 181 – Widen and overlay.

FM 81 from State Highway 72 (Runge) to Goliad County line – Partial rehab, widen and seal coat.

FM 1353 from US Highway 181 to FM 2102 – Partial rehab, widen and seal coat.

State Highway 119 from State Highway 80 to DeWitt County line – Base repair and seal coat.

FM 887 from State Highway 80 to State Highway 123 – Base repair and seal coat.

FM 99 from east of FM 1144 to US Highway 181 – Base repair and seal coat.

FM 1144 from near CR 197 to US Highway 181 – Base repair and seal coat.

Traffic signals at US Highway 181 and FM 1353, US Highway 181 and FM 1145, US Highway 181 and FM 99, US Highway 181 and Business Park, State Highway 80 at State Highway 123, State Highway 72 at FM 1145.

Several projects are planned for 2013, TxDOT officials said:

State Highway 123 from Cibolo Creek Bridge to Wilson County line – Cement treat roadway and overlay.

Cibolo Creek Bridge on FM 2724 (2.9 miles north of FM 181) – Replace bridge and approaches.

State Highway 72 from Bee County line to US Highway 181 – Seal coat and pavement markings.

State Highway 123 from Cibolo Creek Bridge to just north of State Highway 80 – Seal coat and pavement markings.

US Highway 181 at FM 887 and US Highway 181 at FM 81 – Intersection improvements.

US Highway 181 from Bus 181-G to Bee County line – Construct passing lanes.

FM 1353 from US Highway 181 to FM 2102 – Widen roadway and edge repair.

FM 2102 from State Highway 72 to FM 626 – Widen roadway and edge repair.

FM 791 from Atascosa County line to FM 887 – Seal coat and pavement markings.

FM 2102 from FM 626 to State Highway 72 – Partial rehab, widen and seal coat.

FM 882 from State Highway 72 to FM 626 – Edge repair.
